A SHAMEFUL MIND / installation

Porn Film Festival Amsterdam stands for plurality, art, pleasure and community. Our overarching objective is to create an exciting and accessible space for very different bodies and sexualities to come together. We explore desire in all its diversity, addressing urgent questions with a positive and creative attitude. From February 26 to March 1, we celebrate the plurality of sex with films, workshops, talks, performances, art installations and two parties. A SHAMEFUL MIND How far can shame and penance be commodified? And how much does it cost to be free from sin? The architectural installation "A Shameful Mind" satirically explores shame within a Christian context. In the shape of a confessional booth, the installation invites the visitor to kneel and assume a pose of humility. But instead of asking for forgiveness, there is ownership, an embodiment of righteousness and authority. Anamar.jpg, a Romanian-born architect based in the Netherlands, works across research, visual arts and design. She explores themes such as gender, societal patterns and folklore.
