Buning Brongers Award Winners 2026

Arti et Amicitiae presents the exhibition of the winners of the Buning Brongers Awards 2026, the largest private incentive award for visual arts in the Netherlands. The exhibition brings together the work of six artists selected by an expert jury from 120 nominations submitted by Dutch art academies.

The 2026 award recipients are Sofia Lulu Chiadmi (HKU Utrecht), Jochem Mestriner (Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam), Marieke van Ringelesteijn (HKU Utrecht), Aga Rymuszka (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague), Taiyo Shimizu Larenas (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague), and Bo Zhang (Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam).

The exhibition highlights a range of artistic practices and offers an insight into a new generation of artists emerging from Dutch art education. On the occasion of the award, a publication designed by Helena Hesselink will be released, featuring interviews with the winners by the art platform Mister Motley.

The award ceremony and exhibition opening take place on 13 November 2026 at Arti et Amicitiae. The exhibition will be on view from 14 to 28 November 2026.
