Naturocene
Naturocene
We live in the Anthropocene: the era in which human activity has become the dominant force shaping the Earth. Naturocene offers a different way of looking at our place on the planet. Instead of putting humans at the centre, it sees humans as one part of a much larger community of life. It’s about coexistence, give-and-take, and recognising nature as something alive and active, not just a resource but opening up new ways of relating to the world around us.
Many of the works are told from the perspective of nature itself; animals, plants, and other forms of life act as the narrator, or agent, within the work. They give voice to nature, treat it as a creative partner, and reveal what often stays hidden, inviting visitors to reconnect with the Earth through themes of interdependence, empathy, and resilience.
Naturocene is curated by Alessandra Laitempergher.
