Reflecting Angles

Light artist Tamar Frank presents 'Reflecting Angles', a site-specific work in the south-facing window of 30m3__, made with dichroic film, LED and acrylic.

The work changes with the time of day: by day it is lit by the sun, which streams through the window from early morning until late afternoon, and after dark by LEDs. The show opened just before the autumn equinox, the point at which the days here begin to shorten, and across its run the sun sits steadily lower. Frank often builds her work around celestial events and has previously made installations centred on the movement of the sun; she comes by regularly to observe the changes and adjust the piece.

'Reflecting Angles' can be seen from the street through the window, day and evening, and inside by appointment.

Finissage: Sunday 8 November, 4 to 6 PM, with a musical performance by Rudolf Nottrot (violin) and Lena Nottrot (cello). It is part of the open studios at the Zeeburgerdijk 25 studio complex that day, when the building is open from 3 to 7 PM.

30m3__ ("dertig meter drie") is an artist-run project space in the window of Su Tomesen's studio, supported by the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst and Stadsdeel Oost.
