Het Oude Emmahuis opens its doors for Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend 2026 (location 23 on the route map, Rotterdam North). Studios are open Sat 19 Sept and Sun 20 Sept, 12:00 to 18:00. Entry is free with a ticket reserved through GRAW; a voluntary contribution goes to the makers.
In the early 1980s, the Oude Emmahuis nursing home, which was scheduled to be demolished, was instead transformed into a multifunctional building, featuring a large inner courtyard surrounded by 8 studios for artists representing a broad range of visual disciplines and techniques: photography, painting, spatial work, installation art and performance art.
