The Visitor // A STORK SHOW
The Visitor // A STORK SHOW
You know the Stork: ooievaar, la cigogne, اللقلق, stārķis, , لک لک, лелека. Storks are the birds who deliver babies to their earthly homes. The bringer of spring, joy and nuclear familial bliss. The birds who are always safe, dependable and prompt. Except when they’re not. Sometimes these storks are late…really late. And the undelivered is left to wonder, “Why is my stork late?” Maybe their stork is smoking skinny cigarettes in a bar, being kicked out of a polyamorous throuple of tattooed lesbian crows or working as a flight attendant. Or maybe, hopefully, fingers crossed — she’s just late.
Experience what Theaterkrant named an “ unbridled, queer fable…” for yourself.
About the makers
Born in Nebraska, USA, Phoebe Perry is a comedian and theater maker who breathes life into characters with physicality and sensitivity. The work she creates is equal parts confessional and absurd often exploring themes of belonging, longing and being late. Phoebe is a regular comedian at Comedy Club Haug in Rotterdam and the opening act for Derek Scott Mitchell’s “Let’s Double Dutch II” tour. Phoebe is a frequent co-host of Femilicious (a collaboration with De Kleine Komedie and Nina de la Parra) as well as Mezrab ALT COMEDY NITE. Before moving to the Netherlands, Phoebe improvised with the iO Harold team, Mothership, and premiered her solo character show, Dr. Fifi and Her Imaginary Friends, at Chicago Sketchfest. Theaterkrant recently described her as “one of the freest spirits you can meet on stage” // (original: [Perry is] een van de meest vrije geesten die je op een podium kunt treffen.)”
