In this exhibition, Hans van Bentem treats us to a series of very recent ceramic works, complemented by older pieces that partly explain the origins of these series. Van Bentem is interested in traditional, highly skilled craft and prestigious materials. This exhibition will include Dutch ceramics, Czech blown glass, and Senegalese wood. The works are rooted in the artist’s obsessions, dreams, and childhood memories. The sculptures are presented almost like protective or magical objects.
