Foundation B.a.d

Foundation B.a.d opent de deuren tijdens Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend 2026 (locatie 61 op de routekaart, Rotterdam Zuid). De ateliers zijn open op za 19 sep en zo 20 sep van 12.00 tot 18.00 uur. Toegang is gratis met een via GRAW gereserveerd ticket; een vrijwillige bijdrage gaat naar de makers.

Foundation B.a.d is a group of artists who since 1991 have been working (and in some cases also living) in a former domestic science school in the Charlois district. Foundation B.a.d., which started out as a squat, is now jointly managed by its users as a cultural free haven. The 18 artists of Foundation B.a.d. are active in a variety of media: painters, photographers, and artists who make conceptual, spatial or public artworks. Foundation B.a.d. squatted the building at Talingstraat 5 exactly 30 years ago, in 1991. The complex has enjoyed legal status since 2012. The 30th anniversary will be celebrated between 2021 and 2023 through various events as well as a publication.
