'the Other' – Doris Kolpa and Bruno Neves

This exhibition brings together individual works and an ongoing collaborative painting practice. Throughout the show, painting explores psychological landscapes shaped by personal experience, memory, and contemporary realities.
The works centre on the human figure and inner states, touching on existential questions, responsibility, and the complexity of being alive today. In the collaborative paintings, we paint each other live and simultaneously, blurring the roles of subject and observer. This process resonates with Lacan's ideas about the Other, in which identity is shaped through relation, the gaze, and encounter.
Despite distinct visual languages, the works connect through a shared focus on narrative, atmosphere, and emotional resonance.
