What if anxiety is not a feeling, but a body? In “A Year of Solitude: Liminality” fear takes physical form. The performance explores how anxiety becomes paralyzing and obsessive, while revealing its potential for vulnerability and empathy. In this sinister showing, the dancer’s body mutates and fragments, manifesting anxiety as a tangible force. Crawling under the skin, the performance exposes the agonizing yet mesmerizing nature of anxiety through the performer’s distorted and alienated body.
About the makers
Mirjam Ravier is a dance maker and performer whose practice moves between performance and research within street/funk/club styles. Working across theatre stages, studios, and cultural spaces, she explores dance as both an artistic language and a form of embodied knowledge. Her choreographic work explores transformation, alienation, and the fringes of human emotion and experience, often placing bodies in intimate proximity with audiences. Mirjam has worked for companies and makers including Danstheater AYA, Schrit_tmacher, Don’t Hit Mama, Nederlandse Dansdagen and Honey Eavis.
