Buitenzetten

With “Buitenzetten”, Galerie Larik pays tribute to artist Toon Teeken, who has held a distinct position within Dutch painting for decades.

Teeken is known for his rich, layered visual world. Where the modern adage often dictates that “less is more”, his work seems rather to embrace the opposite. His colorful compositions are populated by recurring figures and motifs that constantly take on new meanings.

Thoughts, impressions, and memories are not kept hidden, but brought out into the open. What unfolds within takes shape in color, line, and composition. The works are not illustrations of a story, but sites where images, associations, and experiences converge. The exhibition will feature 3 series, a sculpture, and a monumental painting.
