Buy My Darlings: Photography & Beyond

The sixth edition of Buy My Darlings focuses on photography & beyond: artists who use photography as their starting point and take it further into collage, mixed media and other boundary-pushing visual forms.

Over one weekend, more than forty established and emerging artists present their best work, their darlings, directly to the public. Visitors can discover and buy original prints, editioned photographs, photobooks and other artworks. Publisher Uitgeverij Lecturis returns with a selection of art books, Self Publishers United takes part, and VOORDEKUNST offers one-to-one sessions for artists who want to learn more about crowdfunding. Lenny van Hout joins as special guest.

Buy My Darlings is a yearly photography event curated by photographers Tara Fallaux and Martijn van de Griendt, who personally invite artists ranging from recent graduates to established photographers; there is no open call. They started it in 2020 to give the public an accessible introduction to contemporary photography and photographers a platform to show and sell their work. The first edition drew around 2,000 visitors, and every photographer sold work.

Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, 10:00 to 18:00, at NDSM Fuse on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam-Noord. Free entry. The ferry from Amsterdam Centraal runs every 15 minutes; parking on NDSM costs €1.40.
