Zandloper
Zandloper
An art installation featuring glass and ceramics exploring treasure hunting in a dream. Zandloper can be seen as a “sculpture garden of the sea”. You walk along the beach in the morning glow. Wandering through the sand, you encounter mysterious ‘oracles’: objects that were once something else, objects that gleam. Swallowed by the sea, swept into another time, and washed ashore in new guises. Corals, fossils, stones, coins, sea glass, and strange marine creatures. In this installation, you are invited to leave behind the concept of time and search through the sand for your own ‘oracle’.
Zsa Zsa is an artist and graphic designer working with various analogue and digital techniques. Nandi creates tactile sculptures using glass and ceramics. Their friendship began years ago through a close collaboration building a cabinet at Swaak aan de Oude Gracht. Together, they regularly marvel at subtle and grand observations made during walks. To this day, they support each other’s artistic practices, generating the creative energy that culminated in ‘Zandloper’.
