Employee of the Month
Employee of the Month
There is another Boijmans alongside the Boijmans we know. Behind the scenes of the museum lies a network of artists, staff members, creators, and stories. Employee of the Month offers a glimpse into this less visible landscape. This summer exhibition brings together a group of artists who work—or have worked—at the museum, or who met through it. A shared workplace unfolds here into a multifaceted exhibition where diverse artistic practices meet and playful connections emerge. A dynamic tension arises between the creative individual and the institution as a whole—a space where we must explore the relationship between an artist’s vision and the museum’s vision. The exhibition invites visitors to draw their own connections and reflect on the question: who is the museum? With the museum building temporarily absent, this question takes on added significance. Employee of the Month demonstrates that a museum is more than just a collection or a building; it lives within the people who work there, and within the conversations, studios, and networks that shape the institution every day. Here, these practices come together for the first time.
