Exhibition open day: Cosmic and Earthly Inhabitant by Clara Aramburo

Please note! This event takes place at GALERIENIEMIENIE Bernard Loderstraat 39 (part of Buurtwerkplaats Noorderhof) OPEN DAY SUNDAY MAY 3rd 13:00-17:00 OPEN DAG ZONDAG 3 MEI 13:00-17:00 Following a residency at @ekwc_oisterwijk , an international artist-in-residence and research centre for ceramics, she returns to her home neighbourhood for a reflective, tiny residency—looking at what she has created in public view. Clara's artistic practice revolves around traditions and cultural rituals, through which she investigates and deepens our relationship with nature. As a member of the agri-cultural art collective @four.siblings.collective, she creates gardens as sites for learning and connecting with one's surroundings through urban agriculture. At the same time, these gardens serve as gathering spaces hosting reading groups and exhibitions. Her Mexican heritage plays a vital role in her work, interweaving Mexican symbolism and traditions. Operating from @galerieniemienie, where she works, reflects, and researches, passers-by are invited to engage in conversation with her, craft ceramic insects, or participate in other activities unfolding along the way. Clara's audience encompasses not only humans, but also other species often overlooked. The gallery will function as an urban garden: a space to read, create, and where insects, drawn by the planted blooms, are equally welcome visitors. Drop by to meet @claraaram; she will show you how to work with ceramics and looks forward to conversing with you.
