In Spinning Substance, Shaping Stories, 26 emerging artists and designers present their personal perspectives on the question: What is Fashion? The participants are third- and fourth-year students from various disciplines and academies, coming together in the Fashion minor. Over several months of research, experimentation, and deepening their personal fascinations, they have translated their visions into a unique visual language within fashion and design.

The exhibition reveals what emerges when young designers take the time to explore, experiment, and imbue fashion with meaning. Themes such as identity, gender, nostalgia, nature, and politics unfold across works ranging from garments and textiles to photography, film, performance, and installations. The diverse projects demonstrate just how versatile and inspiring fashion and design can be. At times driven by concept, at others by material or form, the makers' curiosity and engagement are palpable throughout. Together, the works offer a vibrant reflection on how this new generation of designers navigates a world in constant motion.

The opening at Kunstliefde will take place on Friday, 16 January at 16:30, followed by the opening at AG Ruimte voor nieuwe kunst en media at 17:30.
