A Monumental Dialogue
The exhibition Grafiek Magnifiek offers a captivating journey of discovery through contemporary monumental graphic art, bringing together diverse techniques, styles, and perspectives. The exhibition is part of Grafiek25 and is a must-see for printmaking and modern art enthusiasts.
The exhibition showcases work in a wide range of styles and techniques: from lithography, screen printing, linocut, and woodcut to etching, installations, and experimental print forms. But the process behind the art also comes to life: through talks, video excerpts, and sketch materials, visitors gain insight into the intensive and time-consuming creative process, where craftsmanship and imagination go hand in hand. Six Dutch artists each invited a colleague to enter into a monumental graphic conversation together. These special encounters lead to unexpected connections, new layers of meaning, and a rich dialogue between styles, techniques, and visions.
During the opening on Friday 17 October, poet Els van Stalborch, member of the Stadsdichtersgilde, will recite a special poem on the occasion of the exhibition.
