Art Island IJmuiden
Art Island IJmuiden
This weekend, Moving Gallery is participating in one of the most delightful art events in the Netherlands: Art Island on the Forteiland near IJmuiden. Thirty top-tier galleries have settled into the fort's fascinating network of corridors and chambers, which in itself is more than worth a visit. Experience UNESCO World Heritage and contemporary art together, surrounded by massive sea vessels and harbour bustle, cross by boat, and enjoy fresh fish in the sunshine. In our space, we are presenting Anne Schillings (small works), Merlijn Toby (sculptures), and Leonie Bos (paintings on paper). If you are looking for something genuinely different this Whitsun weekend (Fri Sat Sun), do visit Art Island.
De Moving Gallery
The Moving Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the centre of Utrecht.
The gallery represents a dynamic group of Dutch and international artists who consistently push creative boundaries. It selects artists at all stages of their careers, from young, recent graduates to established names.
The primary focus is on painting and works on paper, though three-dimensional works are also featured occasionally. In addition, the gallery houses two spaces dedicated exclusively to new media works.
The Moving Gallery opened its doors in 2018. The gallery is housed in a former garage building in central Utrecht. The Moving Gallery takes pride in its prominent standing within the local and international art scenes and regularly participates in Dutch and international art fairs.
From thought-provoking exhibitions to collaborative ventures: The Moving Gallery is more than a gallery — it is a place for discovery, dialogue, and inspiration, playing an essential role in the local art ecosystem. The Moving Gallery is a member of the Nederlandse Galerie Associatie (NGA) and adheres to the Gallery Fair Practice Code.
