SOLAR

I am walking and I am sweating; there is sweat on my face. The psyche unfolds, like a flower, spreading its petals and allowing itself to be touched by the landscape in which it grows. Like a pattern on a larger tapestry. Endless weavings, warmth and night, a particular frequency of light. We are never truly alone.

SOLAR is a wild physical theatre performance: A hallucinated road trip and a cosmic journey into the reptilian mind. Gravitational forces, supernovas, and the path back to prehistoric times. A sunrise on the beach, lonely and beautiful. A deep, aching longing for warmth, and a story of chasing the light, only to rush into darkness like an animal.

An actor and a saxophonist, two bodies and one breath, pulling you somewhere ancient and electric.

See it before the sun burns out.

About the makers

Emil Aron Dorph (1999) is an actor and theater maker fascinated by the exterior world’s impact on people; how we are changed by what is outside of us. He approaches performance as a constant discovery, where playing a character means becoming something new again and again, taking a different form with every movement, always in dialogue with the space around us. He believes in the stage as a construction site, where figures and worlds can be built up and torn down, and where the performer is simultaneously shaping and being shaped. Reoccurring elements in his work are physical transformations, poetic and fragmented texts, and a sense of lightness.
