m.simons is proud to announce a solo exhibition by Tim Mathijsen. The artist opens the gallery season on Friday 5 September with a new series of glass works created during a residency at MAKE Eindhoven.

Mathijsen's oeuvre revolves around copying, reproducing, printing, and casting, for which he has previously used materials such as plaster, bronze, and readymade objects.

Tim Mathijsen (1987, the Netherlands) lives and works in Amsterdam, where he studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and participated in De Ateliers in 2015. In 2019, he was a resident at Wiels in Brussels, Belgium, where he presented a solo exhibition in the project space in 2022. Additionally, he is a co-founder of Marwan, a collective artist-run initiative in Amsterdam, and teaches at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
