Talk: The films and work of Guillaume Dustan by Julien Laugier and Olga Rozenblum
Throughout the month of November, three films of the French writer, editor, magistrate, artist and public figure, Guillaume Dustan (1965-2005, Paris) will be shown in the video room of Hartwig Proxy. For Amsterdam Art Week, we are joined by the managers of Guillaume Dustan’s film estate, Julien Laugier and Olga Rozenblum, who will introduce, discuss, and share more of Dustan’s oeuvre. Their talk takes its name from the subtitle of Dustan’s novel LxiR (2002), which roughly translates to dedramatising / playing down everyday life.
Julien Laugier is a curator and editor. He was a member of the Parisian independent spaces castillo/corrales (2012-2015) and Treize (2018-2024) where he organized exhibitions by and with Lutz Bacher, Robert Glück, Gabi Losoncy and Jean-Michel Wicker. He manages Guillaume Dustan’s film estate with Olga Rozenblum since 2018.
Olga Rozenblum is a researcher, publisher, and activist. One of the co-founders of Treize, an independent space in Paris, she has taught in art schools in France and Switzerland (ENSAPC Cergy, Beaux-Arts Marseille, HEAD Geneva). Her work centres community archives, queer and feminist publishing and research on hidden minority histories. She has been a curator and programmer since the 2010’s and manages Guillaume Dustan’s film estate with Julien Laugier.
