The Holistic Technology Salon Exhibition

The Holistic Technology Salon
The Holistic Technology Salon brings together artistic practices that explore alternative ways of relating to technology and imagining more holistic futures. Rather than treating technology as separate from the world around us, the Salon approaches the technosphere as part of an interconnected living system of human and more-than-human life, bodies, and environments.
The Holistic Technology Salon Exhibition
How can we understand the technosphere as an integral part of planetary life, approached through care and ecological awareness?

This question forms the basis of the Holistic Technology Salon (HTS), an evolving artistic research project exploring our relationships with technology beyond its functions and infrastructures.

The exhibition brings together works by Telemagic, Marlot Meyer, Jihae Ko, Ginevra Petrozzi, Annika Kappner, Lucy Cordes Engelman, Sieta van Horck, and SETUP. Through interactive installations, embodied rituals, moving images, and participatory practices, the artists explore technology as a medium for connection, perception, and transformation. From prophetic machines and bioelectronic breathing devices to planetary acupuncture and smartphone yoga, the works challenge familiar ways of interacting with technological systems.

Central to HTS is the triskele, a symbol of interconnected movement and transformation. It forms the basis of a threefold research methodology connecting relationality, perception, and cognition through critical inquiry, dialogue, and shared experience.

Since 2023, HTS has developed through gatherings and collaborations combining artistic experimentation, embodied practice, and collective research. The exhibition continues this research through a series of events, accompanied by a dedicated website and e-publications.
E-publication
Accompanying the exhibition is an e-publication exploring alternative relationships with technology through artistic practice, embodied experience, and critical inquiry. The publication features contributions by Telemagic, Marlot Meyer, Jihae Ko, Ginevra Petrozzi, Annika Kappner, Lucy Cordes Engelman, Sieta van Horck, and SETUP, alongside guest contributions by Georgia Kareola and Dr. Evelyn Wan.

The e-publication will be available to download through V2_ Publishing following its launch.
Works

Telemagic’s The Or@cle is a prophetic machine that generates ever-changing texts through chance and web scraping. Revisiting their early Oracles series in the age of generative AI, the work questions how technology shapes belief, meaning, and agency.

Marlot Meyer’s Echo-System invites participants to connect through bioelectronic “bellies” that exchange signals through breathing and electrical stimulation. The work explores technology as a medium for bodily awareness and collective connection.

Jihae Ko’s Planetary Acupuncture connects the human body to the living Earth through a participatory performance and video installation. Drawing on acupuncture, movement, and ritual, the work explores the relationship between individual and planetary bodies.

Ginevra Petrozzi’s Screen Guardian combines ancient protective symbolism with contemporary digital technology. An aluminium door depicting an Etruscan-inspired lion interrupts access to a computer screen, questioning our relationship with surveillance and digital mediation.

Annika Kappner and Lucy Cordes Engelman’s Moonblood explores natural cycles through moving image, sound, scent, and somatic practices. Drawing on ecofeminist and technofeminist thought, the work challenges linear understandings of time, technology, and life.

Sieta van Horck and SETUP’s Tech Yoga invites participants to reconsider their relationship with smartphones through yoga-inspired exercises. By approaching familiar devices with attention and curiosity, the work challenges habitual patterns of technological use.
