V2_ poster history – Exhibition
V2_ poster history – Exhibition
To showcase V2’s history since its foundation in 1981, this exhibition features the design of the many books published by V2, the dozens of brochures, the famous manifesto, and the many catalogues and posters designed by co-founder Joke Brouwer over a period of 45 years.
A continuous stream of examples on a large video screen in the Green Room, downstairs next to the entrance of V2_, shows the wide range of media used over the years. The evolution from hand-painted posters to the early digital brochures and catalogues, to the high-end book designs, demonstrates the constant mutual influence between pre-digital and post-digital design.
Together all the images reflect the idiosyncratic style that characterizes V2_’s direct, rough and experimental approach to exhibitions and programs.
