Vloeiende vormen
Vloeiende vormen
Culture never stands still. Like nature, it moves along — flowing, changing, and growing.
Vloeiende Vormen explores how contemporary glass art reflects the fluid and vibrant nature of culture. The exhibition takes place in the wallpaper rooms of Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd, alongside Europe's best-preserved collection of hand-painted Chinese Qing dynasty wallpapers—an exceptional testimony to centuries of cultural exchange. The exhibition shows how imagery, craft techniques, and ideas continuously move through time and space. Glass itself, fragile yet enduring, serves as a powerful metaphor for migration, renewal, and the connection between tradition, nature, and our ever-shifting sense of belonging. Sixteen national and international artists integrate natural elements and references to the country house's cultural heritage into their works, creating layered spaces and dialogues between inside and outside, nature and culture, past and present.
Artists
Anne Buscher, Meng Du, Anna Gray, Bernard Heesen, Tomas Hillebrand, Krista Israel, Jack van Leeuwen, Jing Li, Zhenning Li, Barbara Nanning, Jens Pfeifer, Maria Roosen, Jehoshua Rozenman, Nataliya Vladychko, Sofie de Leeuw van Weenen, Tai Xiao. – Curator: Selena Yang
This exhibition is presented by Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd in collaboration with Oooit Art. With thanks to the Cultuurfonds, made possible in part by the Hugo van Win Glasfonds, the K.F. Hein Fonds, and Excellence New Energy.
