Video Room

Throughout the month of November, a selection of Guillaume Dustan’s films will be on show in the video room of Hartwig Proxy.

Dustan was an important French public figure, writer, editor, whose oeuvre brought broad public attention to queer life and the AIDS crisis. His films, which date from 2000–2004, were largely unknown in his lifetime, and are composed with a Sony DV camera.

What results are striking works that are aligned with the unrelenting pursuit of simple directness and atmospheric correctness that typifies his writing.
