Amsterdam Art Week 2026

Five days of contemporary art across Amsterdam: more than 80 exhibitions by over 250 artists at more than 75 galleries, museums, project spaces and residencies

For five days Amsterdam is given over to contemporary art. Amsterdam Art Week, now in its 14th edition and organised with the City of Amsterdam and the Rijksakademie, brings together the whole of the city’s art sector, from galleries and museums to project spaces, residencies and corporate collections: more than 80 exhibitions by over 250 artists at more than 75 locations, and over 125 public events. It is for anyone who wants to discover art, whether a seasoned collector or someone walking into a gallery for the first time.

Wednesday 18 November: the week opens together with the Rijksakademie Open Studios, when its 50 international resident artists show their newest work in their studios.

Thursday 19 November: Festive Gallery Night. Galleries across the city open at the same time, from 17:00 to 21:00, for an easygoing evening of moving from place to place and talking with artists and gallerists.

Friday 20 November: project spaces and museums. Museums, project spaces and corporate collections lead with tours, artist talks and conversations about current themes in art and society.

Saturday 21 November: the big public day. Galleries, project spaces, museums and institutions in every district put on specials, with organised tours and your own routes reaching beyond the familiar places.

Sunday 22 November: Family Day, with workshops and activities for children. Through Kids Buy Art, children can buy their first artwork, priced up to €100.

Alongside the public programme, the In Depth Programme is a curated series of events for international art professionals, curators and collectors, put together by the Rijksakademie and Amsterdam Art. Every exhibition and event is listed below: talks, tours, openings, performances, family activities and the evening parties.
