Geweven Waarde

The exhibition Geweven Waarde, which was presented in Leiden last year, will be on view in Rotterdam this autumn during the national Open Studio Weekend in September. In this exhibition, the Textile Committee presents ten contemporary artists from the Netherlands who work with a wide range of textile materials and techniques.

The title refers both to the rhythmic, exploratory processes behind their work and to the meaningful connections and values that textiles can create. Textiles are tactile, symbolic, and constructive: they connect people, carry stories, and build forms. Together, the selected works demonstrate the enduring relevance and versatility of textiles in contemporary artistic practice.

Featuring work by: Marian Bijlenga, Célio Braga, Maaike Gottschal, Jas&Cal, Dré Wapenaar, Ellen Mary Rooijakkers, Theo Rooden, Mirjam Hagoort, Lizan Freijsen, and Iemke van Dijk.
