Vrienden Van de Palmboom

Vrienden Van de Palmboom opens its doors for Groot Rotterdams Atelier Weekend 2026 (location 94 on the route map, Rotterdam West). Studios are open Sat 19 Sept and Sun 20 Sept, 12:00 to 18:00. Entry is free with a ticket reserved through GRAW; a voluntary contribution goes to the makers.

Vrienden van de Palmboom is an artist-run studio in Rotterdam’s Middelland. Originally founded by local creatives, it is now sustained by Asian women artists and publishers. Held together by inherited furniture, shared tools, voluntary labour and care, it is a quiet, resilient space where precarious lives, artistic practices and mutual support take root.
