EXbunker / Alicia Hofstra – Het Altaar

Het Altaar is a textile installation in which Alicia Hofstra explores her relationship with the concept of ‘worship’. The work contains various references to the religious history within the Protestant Church, as well as to personal hyperfixations, which are similarly approached as a form of worship. The installation is intended to overwhelm the viewer, akin to the way richly decorated castles or churches might do.
