Thirdness

In this series of four paintings, Manilo continues his contemplation of grammatology and semiotics, connecting it to a hypothetical underlying structure of synesthesia. This structure, along with that of semiotics, is compared to a cognitive structure of thought formation, and all of these constructs are subsequently brought together in a more abstract work that seeks to fathom a fundamental formula. Each painting symbolises one of these phenomena. This marks one step in the enduring artistic process of understanding one's own mind.
