Werk in uitvoering

Over the past year, I have increasingly come to regard my workspace as the work itself, placing the work process and play at the center. The surprises encountered when focusing on the process rather than the outcome. Discovery instead of conclusion. The work ‘Werk in uitvoering’ takes the dumpster as a point of departure to explore value and desire in the act of making.

In EXbunker, a situation emerges in which the content continuously changes and the action repeatedly shifts. Using scrap wood and found street objects that previously served a different function, I work on a space that balances between function and form. Everything located within the space is used to construct the space. Here, inventive, incidental, or seemingly clumsy connections repeatedly take on different roles. Where does execution end and the work begin? Or can these two terms exist within the very same sense of the word?
